What this covers
The scope, stated without ambiguity.
Assessing the situation
What prompts the request: an identified threat, media exposure, a family or professional context.
Reconnaissance of regular places
Home, work, schools, habitual places: regular journeys are the weak point of any routine.
Sizing the team
One person or several, continuous or at set times: the size of the arrangement follows from the context, not the other way round.
Followed through the assignment
One coordinator, a regular review, and a revision of the arrangement if the situation changes.
What we do not do
We do not promise the absence of risk, and we decline assignments whose framing looks unrealistic. An under-sized arrangement is worse than none.
A specific requirement to cover?
Describe the context and a coordinator will come back to you with a suitable arrangement.
How it works
Four stages, from the first call to the end of the assignment.
A call back, not another form
A coordinator calls you to understand the need. At this stage we need no names, no addresses and no exact schedules.
What you receive
- Territory and approximate period
- Nature of the request
- One reachable contact
A shared picture of the ground
A detailed conversation with you, then reconnaissance on site. We check what is actually there, not what a plan says.
What you receive
- Reconnaissance of regular places
- Routine journeys and exposure points
- Confirmed family and timing constraints
A document, not a promise
The written arrangement sets out who does what, where and when. You can read it, challenge it and have it approved internally.
What you receive
- Justified team composition
- Discretion and distance instructions
- Hours, contacts and a clear price
One point of contact, start to finish
Everyone is briefed before deployment, then the same coordinator follows the assignment through.
What you receive
- Briefing before deployment
- Coordinator reachable throughout
- End-of-assignment report
Typical situations
Three contexts where this service applies.
A person and their family
An arrangement covering several people with different routines, without taking over their daily life.
Temporary exposure
A trial, a publication, a decision: a few weeks of heightened exposure, then a return to normal.
A single occasion
A meeting, a journey, an awards evening: a need with a defined beginning and end.
Illustrative scenarios — not client references, and no outcomes claimed.
Regulatory framework
UPP designs, sizes and coordinates every security arrangement — from initial scoping to assignment follow-up. Regulated work is carried out by providers authorised in each territory.
Do we need a proven threat?
No. Many arrangements answer exposure rather than a named threat. Scoping exists to tell the two apart.
Are officers armed?
No. Our arrangements are unarmed. Regulated work is carried out by locally authorised companies within the terms of their licence.
Can it be discreet?
That is the default: business dress, appropriate distance, no demonstration. A visible presence is a decision, not an assumption.
How many people are needed?
That follows from the context and the places, not from a price list. The written arrangement states the composition and why it is that one.
