Consulting & Risk Analysis
Private Investigation
Open-source research and background checks, with a written report that separates what is established from what is not.
Confidential · no sensitive detail required · We work in English and French
What this covers
The scope, stated without ambiguity.
Scoping the request
What you are trying to establish, and whether it can be established. The first step is often saying what cannot.
Open-source research
What is lawfully accessible and verifiable, documented with its source rather than reported from memory.
Background checks
Professional history, whether a profile holds together, what surrounds a site: facts, not impressions.
A written report you can use
What was looked for, what was found, what could not be — and what that does and does not support concluding.
What we do not do
We carry out nothing unlawful: no intrusive surveillance, no access to protected data, no tracking without a legal basis. Regulated work is carried out by locally authorised companies, and a request whose legal basis is unclear is declined rather than worked around.
A specific requirement to cover?
Describe the context and a coordinator will come back to you with a suitable arrangement.
How it works
Four stages, from the first call to the end of the assignment.
A call back, not another form
A coordinator calls you to understand the need. At this stage we need no names, no addresses and no exact schedules.
What you receive
- Territory and approximate period
- Nature of the request
- One reachable contact
A shared picture of the ground
A detailed conversation with you, then reconnaissance on site. We check what is actually there, not what a plan says.
What you receive
- Scope of the research defined
- What can be established, and what cannot
- Legal basis confirmed
A document, not a promise
The written arrangement sets out who does what, where and when. You can read it, challenge it and have it approved internally.
What you receive
- Method and sources stated
- Deliverable and report format
- Timeframe, scope and a clear price
One point of contact, start to finish
Everyone is briefed before deployment, then the same coordinator follows the assignment through.
What you receive
- Briefing before deployment
- Coordinator reachable throughout
- End-of-assignment report
Typical situations
Three contexts where this service applies.
Before a partnership
Checking that a counterpart or a company holds together before committing to them.
After an incident
Understanding what happened, with material that stands up in front of a third party.
The setting of a site or an area
What surrounds a location before putting an operation or a stay into it.
Illustrative scenarios — not client references, and no outcomes claimed.
Regulatory framework
UPP designs, sizes and coordinates every security arrangement — from initial scoping to assignment follow-up. Regulated work is carried out by providers authorised in each territory.
Is this legal?
What we do is, which is exactly why scoping comes first. A request that depends on an unlawful method is declined.
Can the report be used in court?
That is for your counsel to judge. We document sources so the question can be asked seriously, without promising a legal outcome.
How long does it take?
Entirely dependent on what is asked. The timeframe is stated at scoping, before anything is committed.
What if you find nothing?
The report says so. A documented absence of findings is information; pages written to justify an invoice are not.
